I have often been inspired to keep going by the hopeful and determined words of other people. I am putting together the ‘Anthology of Hope’ as a ration pack of poems and art work that we can all reach into when things are tough.

What makes you feel hopeful? Do you have work that captures the way even a shred of hope can help you in dark times? What would you say to a friend who felt as if there was no point in trying again? What writing or art work sculpture or photograph will you make to offer hope?

Everyone who’s work is included in the hope anthology will receive a complimentary copy. The book will be available at the end of 2018 in paperback and on Amazon Kindle.

Writing and art work must reach me by: 31st August 2018 to be considered for this anthology.

Please follow the submission guidelines below to make sure I can look at the work you submit.

Writing

Please attach your poems, short stories or suggestions for keeping hopeful and an ‘about the author’ piece of up to 250 words to an email and send it to:

You should use word processor files .odt .doc or .docx to ensure that I can open them.

Please tell me if you would like me to email you when submissions open for future anthologies.

You need to hold the rights to publish the writing you submit. This usually means that you are the author and you have not already granted these rights to another publisher. If your work is a collaboration you need the consent of everyone who wrote it to submit it and your about the author document for that piece should be about your whole group.

I will post here when the final line up has been chosen and reply to your email to tell you the outcome of your submission. The decisions about which work is included are made by the editor based on personal taste and what works for the book as a whole. The editors decision is final.

If your work is selected for ‘The Hope Anthology’ I will ask you what address you would like your complimentary copy posted to and email to tell you when the book is released.

Art work

Please attach a digital image of your art work or sculpture and an ‘about the artist’ piece of up to 250 words to an email and send it to:

You should use .jpg .png or .svg files to ensure that I can include them in the book. You could also attach a well lit digital photograph of your work particular if it’s a sculpture, an embroidery or any large piece of work. You can also submit your digital photographs on the theme of hope.
